Biltong, the South African dried-meat delicacy is great to eat straight out of the bag but you might be surprised at how versatile this snack truly is. With a little bit of creativity and a love for food, you can use any flavor of Summit Biltong in these recipes to create dishes the whole family will love. Plus, our biltong is sugar-free, keto, paleo, and celiac-friendly. It contains no preservatives, msg, or nitrates, making it a great alternative to fatty meats that will slow you down.

Keto Taco Cups

Looking to feed the family a keto-friendly meal with low prep work? These Keto Taco Cups made with Summit Biltong are sure to please those of all ages and can be customized to each person’s liking!. This recipe yields 12 taco cups, so half the ingredients to make 6.

Ingredients:

2 cups shredded cheddar

1 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil

1 small onion, chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

8 bags Summit Biltong

1 tsp. chili powder

1/2 tsp. ground cumin

1/2 tsp. paprika

Kosher salt

Freshly ground black pepper

Sour cream, for serving

Diced avocado, for serving

Freshly chopped cilantro, for serving

Chopped tomatoes, for serving

Steps:

  1. Prevent the oven to 375° F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Spoon 2 tablespoons of shredded cheddar cheese a few inches apart. Bake for about 6 minutes, or until bubbly and the edges are turning golden. Let cool.
  2. Grease the bottom of a muffin tin with cooking spray and carefully place melted cheese on the bottom of the muffin tin to create the taco cups. Use your hands to help mold the cups into shape, careful to not burn yourself. Let cool for 10 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until softened, stirring occasionally for about 5 minutes. Stir in garlic, then add biltong. Cook for about 6 minutes.
  4. Season with chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt and pepper.
  5. Transfer cheese cups and fill with cooked biltong and top with the ingredients of your choice.

Paleo Mediterranean Protein Bowl

If you’re looking for a paleo-friendly lunch to take to work, consider the Mediterranean Protein Bowl topped with Summit Biltong. This bowl is sure to give you the energy you need to get through the mid-day work slump!

Yields: 1 large bowl or 2 medium bowls

Ingredients:

2 cups rinsed spinach

1 cup buffalo roasted cauliflower

1/2 cup tomato cucumber salad

1/2 avocado

Everything But The Bagel Seasoning to taste

1 bag Summit Biltong

Make it your own by adding your favorite spices, condiments, nuts and olives.

Steps:

  1. Prepare the buffalo roasted cauliflower and tomato cucumber salad.
  2. Place a bed of spinach on the bottom of the bowl, then add spoonfuls of buffalo roasted cauliflower, tomato cucumber salad and avocado.
  3. Place whole pieces (or shredded) of Summit Biltong into the bowl.
  4. Top with bagel seasoning to your liking.

Low Carb, Keto-Friendly Stuffed Peppers

Wanting a meal that’s not only low-carb but keto-friendly and energizing can feel like an impossible feat. But these stuffed peppers check all the boxes for those looking for a healthy meal that fits their dietary restrictions with very few ingredients and prep work!

Yields: 6 peppers

Ingredients:

2 cups cauliflower rice, prepackaged

1/2 small onion

1 can fire roasted tomatoes drained

1 can sliced olives

6 bell peppers, green are the lowest carb bell pepper

Optional toppings: avocado, cilantro, chipotle aioli

Keto-friendly taco seasoning or store-bought

8 bags of Summit Biltong

1 cup of your choice of shredded cheese

Optional: avocado, cilantro and your favorite hot sauce

Steps:

  1. Pre-make keto taco seasoning and store in an airtight container.
  2. Preheat the oven to 400° F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add biltong and onion. Cook for about 6 minutes.
  4. While cooking, cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membrane.
  5. When biltong is ready, add the taco seasoning you prepared. Stir and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Add in the cauliflower rice, roasted tomatoes and olives. Stir to mix together and remove from heat.
  7. Place bell peppers on the baking sheet and fill each with biltong mixture from the skillet. Top each pepper with some cheese.
  8. Bake for about 15 minutes (or until browned to your liking.)
  9. Remove from oven and serve, adding your optional toppings.
