What Is Biltong?

Pronounced Bil-Tawng

Biltong is a form of air-dried, cured meat that originates in South Africa.

The word Biltong is from the Dutch bil (“rump”) and tong (“strip” or “tongue”).

The most common ingredients are meat (mostly beef, but wild game like venison, Kudu, Springbok, etc, may also be used), black pepper, roasted coriander, salt and vinegar.
